TSA alerts for Terrorist Attacks

Terrorist Alert:

The Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) continue to monitor reports on potential terrorist threats in the United States. While there is no specific or credible intelligence that al-Qa’ida or its affiliates are plotting attacks in the United States to coincide with the ten year anniversary of 9/11, we remain at a heightened state of vigilance and security measures are in place to detect and prevent plots against the United States should they emerge.

TSA reminds the general aviation (GA) community to review the security measures contained in the TSA Information Publication, Security Guidelines for General Aviation Airports (http://www.tsa.gov/assets/pdf/security guidelines for general aviation airports.pdf).

According to some reports aired on television this weekend, light aircraft may be the next target for potential terrorists.  At Chappell, Smith & Associates, we would like to remind you that War, Terrorism and Allied Perils are not covered by most aviation insurance policies.  These coverages, however, can be purchased and endorsed to your policy for both physical damage as well as liability.  If you would like to add this coverage, please contact your CS&A representative for a quote.
